The big night is almost here! We’re just days away from Evening in Paris, and it’s time to start getting excited—finalize those outfit choices, confirm the babysitter, and get ready for a truly magical evening. From stunning class art to incredible auction packages, delicious dinner and drinks, and the chance to connect with our amazing community, this is going to be a night to remember.
One quick thing before the party: Make sure you're set up for the online auction on your phone! Some of you may not have received the first text that said the link was coming from Swallowtail, so when the second text with the actual link arrived, it may have looked like spam.
If you and your spouse/partner are both attending the event on Saturday you have most likely been combined as a household. You have the same bid number.
To enter the online auction please click the link in the text that starts with "Disregard the last text". This link is just for your household, do not share it! The auction site is LIVE—and amazing—so take a minute to get signed in now and START BIDDING!
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The doors will open at 5:15pm for check in and for social hour. Please arrive by 6:15pm at the latest.
WHAT IS ON THE MENU?
Our appetizers will be prepared by a community member as is traditional, but this year we have more than veggie, meat and cheese platters in store for you.
Dinner will be served seated in the ballroom. Our meal will be provided by NW Catering.
- NW Caesar Salad
- Chicken - Pan Seared Chicken Breast with lemon cream and spring pea puree served with tri-color rosemary potatoes as well as carrots and fennel in brown butter.

DESSERT
We will have our dessert auction this year but we'll do it a little differently. Each table will have a dessert bid sheet. Each person will fill out the amount they want to bid. We'll collect the sheets and then call tables to pick their dessert from highest to lowest bidding table.
DRINKS
Beer and Wine will be available at your table, so no need to get up and wait in line at the bar.

WHERE DO I PARK?
The Walters is located within the downtown one way grid on E. Main and NE. 5th. It has a parking lot that is accessible from only 2 directions. However, one of those directions has severe construction and should be avoided. You can approach southbound on 5th from Lincoln or westbound on Main if you turn right on 6th and then left in the middle of the block into the alley (NE Dewdrop Ln). We will have information about additional parking closer to the event.
If you are taking an Uber/Lyft they should drop off and pick up in the parking lot ideally. However, the traffic flow may dictate that they drop you on Main just before the corner of 5th.
WHAT KIND OF GAMES WILL THERE BE?
Golden Ticket - If you purchased a table, your golden tickets will already be at your table when you arrive. For those looking to buy tickets, you can buy them from Trinh, who will be circulating the room during social hour and dinner. Be sure to purchase your golden ticket by 7pm.
This year the winner get to choose from The Online Date Night Packages (#9, #16, #64 and #67), excluding any packages that have already been purchased via the "buy now" option.
Heads or Tails - Buy your beads from Sir Karl, who will be circulating the room. Beads are $10 each. Winner gets to split the pot.
Wine Wall - Wine Wall will be available during the social hour and as you leave for the evening. Pay $15 and spin the wheel to see how many bottles you get.
Look for the gold sparking cone hats to locate our ticket sellers
Parking Lot Raffle - This year the drawing will be during Teacher Appreciation Week on May 6th. You can buy tickets for a teacher tonight or from the front office next week.
WHEN DO WE CHECKOUT?
We will not be doing checkout the evening of the event this year. Instead, we will send email receipts on Sunday so that you can review your purchases. If there are any errors or questions, please reach out to the school office on Monday anytime between 9am and 4pm. Credit cards will then be charged on Monday evening. You may pick up items at school 4/29-5/1 (Tuesday-Thursday). If you are not an enrolled Swallowtail School family, we can arrange for an alternate pickup time and can also mail gift cards (many are electronic and can be emailed).
WHAT TIME SHOULD I TELL THE SITTER WE'LL BE HOME?
The program should be over by 9:30pm. At that point you can hang out a bit and socialize... or head down the street with us to the afterparty.
WHERE IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE?
This year’s auction is at The Walters. The Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center is a multi-use arts and performance venue in downtown Hillsboro. The Walters is run by the Hillsboro Parks & Recreations Department. It includes gallery space, classroom space, and a 200-seat performance hall. Opened in 2004, it is housed in a red-colored stone building completed in 1949 as a Lutheran church.
The center is named in honor of a local couple who donated $1 million towards the project which included purchasing the property and US$2.4 million worth of renovations.
